Scenario1:
David is having a very bad day. His brother pushed him around at breakfast and none of the kids on his bus like him. He goes into class thinking that no one likes him either, At school, David sits down at his desk and Johnny starts pointing at him, whispering to him and laughing. Another friend joins in and starts pointing at David and whispering as well. David notices the students pointing and laughing and he puts his head down on his desk. They keep doing this to David.
What can David do:
-He can say “stop, I don’t like it!’
-Play with other friends
-Ignore them
-Tell the teacher
What can the other students do:
- Not join in
- Tell Johnny to stop!
Scenario2:
A few boys are standing in the hallways joking when they spot a smaller classmate struggling to carry his school books. One of the boys sticks his foot out and deliberately trips the smaller boy and they all laugh and call the boy names, like ‘clumsy’ and ‘dork’.
What can the boy do:
- He can ignore them
- He can tell a teacher
Scenario 3:
Janay wanted to get a drink at the drinking taps. As she approached, she saw two girls standing there telling her that they are the boss of the drinking taps and that only their friends can get a drink.
What can Janay do:
- Ask “But why?”
- She could come back later
- She could tell the teacher
